1/16/12I'm proud to announce that I will be leading my own band on February 21st at Cornelia St Cafe! Joing me will be Matt Vashlishan on alto sax, Jesse Elder on piano, and Steve Whipple on bass. We play at 8:30, followed by my friend Eric Burns at10:00 (who I will also be playing with!)12/27/11Look for new releases in 2012!10/14/11I just got out of the studio with Eric Burns and the Pointless Forest, a new band dedicated to the music of Harry Nilsson. We just recorded our first album: The Point! Look for an early 2012 release.9/14/11I just finished up two days at Systems Two Studios in Brooklyn recording Scott Tixier's new album, "String Theory." The album features great playing by Doug Bradford, Jesse Elder, and Massimo Biolcati! Keep an eye our for a release date!8/29/11Exciting things are happening with the Dan Rufolo Trio in September! First off we'll be performing at the Cornelia St Cafe on Saturday, September 3rd with trumpter Nathan Eklund and tenor saxophonist Rich Perry. Then we'll be going into the studio the next week to record a new album with the same group! 7/28/11Only two more weeks to PRE-ORDER a copy of the new the Dan Rufolo Trio CD on Kickstarter! If we don't reach our goal by August 13th, we won't get the funding and won't be able to make a record! First I'll be playing the grand opening of the newly renovated backyard at Maison Premier in Willliamsburg on July 4th. We'll be playing traditional jazz from 1:30-5:30. Then I'll be traveling to Milwakee on the 7th to perform at the Summerfest music festival with Ross Bon. Giddyup!6/8/11Headed to AZ to play on Max Goldschmidt's debut album along with Brice Winston, Mike Kocour, and Scott Black. What a band! Looking forward to the session and being home for a bit.5/15/11I'll be performing with Melody Sweets & The Candy Shop Boys at the closing ceremonies of the Burlesque Hall Of Fame Competition in Las Vegas on June 4th! This is the biggest burlesque show in the world! Nickel slots here I come!3/25/11Next Wednesday, March 30th, Sam Trapchak's Put Together Funny will be performing at The Cornelia St Cafe. In addition to Sam, Tom Chang, and myself, we will be joined by saxophonist Greg Ward II. It will be a great show. Hope you can make it!3/8/11I'm excited to say that I'll be appearing at the Deer Head Inn on Friday, March 18th with the Billy Test Trio. The Deer Head has been home to many great jazz performances and is where Keith Jarrett recorded his 1992 album Live At The Deer Head Inn. Pretty cool!1/25/11My friend, the amazing violinist Scott Tixier, is trying to raise funds to go into the studio to record his debut album as a leader with his project, "String Theory." Besides myself, the band will consist of vocalist Emilie Weibel, pianist Jesse Elder, and bassist Massimo Biolcati. First of all is a show at the Blue Note with vocalist Key Huggins on Friday, January 14th as part of the "Late Night Groove" series. Also, I will be continuing my residency with Melody Sweets & The Candy Shop Boys at Duane Park on Saturday nights. Then on January 17th I'll be at Cornelia St. Cafe with the Dan Rufolo Trio. Come support live music!12/16/10Yet another CD release show at Cornelia St. Cafe! This time we are celebrating the release of Sam Trapcak's debut album as a leader, "Put Together Funny." The Dan Rufolo Trio will be releasing our debut album "Novelty" on Wednesday November 24th at the Cornleia St. Cafe. We will be playing cuts from the album as well as some new tunes. Sets will be at 8:30 and 10:00.Album will be available for sale!10/14/10I'm looking forward to playing with The Gregory Brothers next friday as part of New York's CMJ Festival. Yes!8/9/10Getting ready to record with the Dan Rufolo Trio this coming week at the Christ Church in Summit, New Jersey. Hard music! Excited! The album, "Novelty" to be released in November of 2010. 8/1/10Just wrapped up an intense eight hour session at Systems Two in Brooklyn with Sam Trapchak, Tom Chang, and Greg Ward II recording Sam's debut album as a leader, "Different Dance." Look for an early 2011 release date. 7/1/10I'm Arizona bound and am looking forward to do some playing with Brice Winston, Matt Mitchell, and Andrew Collberg. Look at my schedule for more info.6/23/10Going into Tadesko studios this Thursday and Friday with Jordan Piper to record his debut CD. One day will be spent with a trio made up of Mr. Piper, myself, and Adrian Moring, the next day will be quintet with Caleb Curtis, Sam Trapchak, and Eric Burns. Yippee!6/14/10Headed to Indiana this coming weekend to do some recording with country boy Austin McCutchen. We'll be playing a show on the 18th at The Bishop Bar in Bloomington and then will be in the studio all day on the 19th. Keep an ear out!5/1/10The week in the studio with Marianne has ended...14 songs in the bag. It was a great experience to play with Christian Ravaglioli, Luke Doucet, Thøger Lund, and Connor Gallaher! The album will soon be available on Le Pop Muzik. For now, back to New York!4/21/10My second flight has been cancelled due to the volcanic ash cloud...and whole tour has been scrapped. Damn. But! Taking advantage of my new found week off, I'll be flying to Tucson, AZ to go into the studio with Marianne Dissard to record her new album, L'Abandon. Exciting!4/16/10Eyjafjallajokull! Thanks to the eruption of this Icelandic volcano, my flight to Köln has been canceled! The next available flight isn't until the 21st, so that means that the first German show will be in Hamburg on the 22nd. Yikes!2/14/10I've just been invited to play with Naim Amor on his upcoming tour of Germany and Switzerland in April. Tour dates are 4/19 - 4/30, beginning in Köln and ending in Basel. It's in support of his release "Sanguine" on Le Pop Muzik. 2/12/10I just recieved the masters from a recording session done in New York in December with Italian pianist Christian Ravaglioli. There is some great music on there. It should be released in Italy sometime in the coming months.

Originally from Tucson, Arizona, Arthur Vint began studying music seriously at the age of twelve and by the time he was fifteen was already performing professionally. He has performed everywhere from dive bars to concert halls, traveling the world with an array of different jazz, rock, country, and orchestral groups,.Arthur focused on classical percussion studies throughout high school and served as principal percussionist of the Tucson Philharmonia Youth Orchestra from 2004-2007. During this time he was also a member of the Tucson Jazz Institute and gained invaluable experience playing in big bands and small groups with his peers. Among his early mentors were drummer Fred Hayes, percussionist Homero Cerón, trombonist Doug Tidaback, bassist Scott Black, and guitarist Matt Mitchell, all of whom were instrumental in his musical growth. Since moving to New York City in 2008, Arthur has performed at many well-respected venues including The Cornelia St. Café, The Blue Note, Dizzy's Club, Smoke, Joe's Pub, The Stone, The Museum of Modern Art, Symphony Space, The Allen Room at Lincoln Center, as well as the Isaac Stern Auditorium at Carnegie Hall. He has been featured at the Montruex, Vienne, Vitoria, and Telluride Jazz festivals and has appeared several times at the South by Southwest music festival in Austin, Texas and the College Music Journal festival in New York City.A few of the legendary musicians that Arthur has had the pleasure of sharing the stage with include Joe Lovano, Rich Perry, Dick Oatts, Scott Wendholt, Mulgrew Miller, Geoff Keezer, Ingrid Jensen, Duane Eubanks, Steve LaSpina, and Brice Winston.He appears on recordings by Scott Tixier, Marianne Dissard, Naim Amor, Matt Mitchell, Amy Rude, Andrew Collberg, Gabe Sullivan, Amy Rude, Jordan Piper, Sam Trapchak, Dan Rufolo, and many others, as well as his own award winning afrobeat band, The Afrodelic Stegosaurchestra. The diversity of his musical experiences is what makes Arthur such a unique and adaptable musician.Arthur holds a B.M. in Jazz Studies from the William Paterson University of New Jersey, where he studied with Kevin Norton, Bill Goodwin, Rich DeRosa, Steve LaSpina and Rich Perry. He is currently pursuing an M.M. at the Manhattan School of Music while maintaining a busy performing and recording schedule. He lives in Brooklyn.
